dc.description.abstractRosalie Silberman Abella was appointed to the Supreme Court of Canada in 2004 by then Prime Minister Paul Martin. Born in 1946 in a Displaced Persons Camp in Germany, she has the distinction of being the first Jewish woman and the first refugee appointed to the Court.
