| dc.description.abstract | This article was written during Georgia's 2020 primary election for the United States Senate in which Jon Ossoff was running to become the Democratic candidate. The author interviewed Ossoff about his relationship with his Jewish heritage. The then candidate stated that his attitudes towards politics and social justice were shaped Jewish upbringing. Noting that the Jewish story is one of "hardship, persecution, perseverance," he added that this heritage, informs his "commitment to a vision of America that is open and decent, kind and respectful."
