Abstract

Irving Abella wrote this article on the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Canadian Jewish Congress (CJC) in 1919. The mission of the CJC was to promote a more open, more inclusive Canada. Originally conceived as the representation of organized Canadian Jewry, it expanded to advocating for human rights for people of any religion or ethnicity.
