Abstract
Norman Lear is best known for creating and producing the landmark television shows, "All in the Family," "Maude," "Good Times" and "The Jeffersons." These shows treated controversial topics such as race relations, politics and abortion. He has always been outspoken about his liberal political views, which he has expressed through philanthropy and political action.
