Abstract
This article argues that there is a growing rift developing between American Jews and Israelis. One source of the schism is politics. Donald Trump is widely approved of in Israel, whereas a majority of American Jews are strongly opposed to him. A growing number of American Jews, moreover, are sharply critical of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's approach to Palestinians and his authoritarian tendencies. Additionally, American Jews and Israelis are divided on theological grounds. Israel has granted broad authority to the Orthodox: only Orthodox weddings are legal in Israel and other Jews are not accorded the same rights as the Orthodox. Click on the link to read the article.
